Some information on the Truthfarer series

This sequence of books is devoted to an imaginative foray into the world of the Truthfarers. In brief, these are races of creatures that inhabit a universe much like our own (though at first sight their customs and ways may seem unfamiliar). For the most part few of them are aware either of their status or their inheritance. They play out their lives enveloped within a miasma of blind ignorance, and thus pass from birth to death and from death to birth, swept along helplessly by the currents of fate to destinations unknown. However a few, a fraction of a fraction, discern within the interplay of forces that buffet them a pattern emerging from the chaos. Many, failing to grasp this intimation, fall back into the flood, and are driven again into an incoherent future. But some, through a combination of innate virtue and a complex nexus of favourable conditions, seize upon these clues to their true being, and begin to follow the path of liberation, and thence to final release.

We entreat you to stay awhile and penetrate some small distance below the surface appearance of these precious creatures. It is then, perhaps, that you might recognise they differ little in their essential nature from ourselves.

The Truthfarer series is an attempt to recreate, within the imagination, the kinds of worlds these fellows inhabit, and how they might struggle to free themselves from the bonds of phenomenal existence, to arrive finally at that serene state which all desire. The projected sequence of six volumes begins with The Ghosts of Earth (which is now available free in pdf format, and will be succeeded at regular intervals by the remainder of the series). Each forms a link in the chain drawing the reader along, stage by stage, on a journey through time and space, from the very beginnings of a universe to its dissolution. Within this vast framework are depicted the lives of those rare individuals who make this unique pilgrimage, who navigate those perilous paths of life and, guided by natures wisdom, arrive at their journey's end.
